Bali is an Indonesian island located in the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands. Bali is lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. Bali is one of the Country's 33 provinces with the provincial capital at Denpasar towards the south of the island. The largest municipality is Denpasar that is the capital with a population of in the region of 300,000. Singaraja is the 2nd largest area and is located on the north coast and something like 100,000 reside in the area.

The tallest section of Bali is Mount Agung that is an active volcano which last erupted in 1963 and it is 3,142 m high. This stands soaring on top of the clouds and can be seen from countless areas of the island.
The island is of course volcanic and surrounded by reefs of coral where life is swarming together with exotic fish and sponges. There are loads of seashores around Bali a few made of white sand and the rest made of black sand that arrives from the volcanic rock.
There are no major water ways in Bali and access to the island destinations is by road that is not always the easiest to stick to. Many of them are in a bad state. You can get a number of rivers which are wonderful for water-rafting that now are especially popular with travelers.
Bali is developing as a big vacation getaway and visitors gather to the island for the great weather, culture and nightlife that there is on offer.
The main tourist area has mainly been Kuta though more recently this is changing as Bali develops more of the island. Kuta is now the center of an extensive tourist-oriented urban area that merges into the neighboring towns. Legian, to the north, is the commercial hub of Kuta and the site of many restaurants and entertainment spots. Kuta also has a lot of luxury villas to rent and is probably the most popular with the holiday crowd. It can be very risky swimming off the Kuta beach as there can be exceedingly strong rip-tides that can simply take you out to sea.
Legian and Seminyak are northern extensions of Kuta along Legian street and Basangkasa street. They are somewhat quieter suburbs with cottage-style accommodations, where many of the expat crowd live. Seminyak is a more high-class area and has a number of chic clubs, restaurants and bars down the main avenue. There are in addition some fashionable nightclubs situated here as well.
There are a lot of new places in the south of Bali, like Nusa Dua, which is home to a lot of 5 star resorts. It is located 40 kilometres from Denpasar, the provincial capital of Bali. Nusa Dua means two islands.
Nusa Dua has beaches on either sides of it and has been attracting lots of people from all across the island.
Jimbaran is also an area growing in popularity and is a great place to sit and watch the lovely sunsets that Bali is known for. Jimbaran lies on the 'neck' of the southern peninsula in Bali and is widely known for the fresh seafood kiosks that are scattered along the beach.
There are an estimated 30,000 expatriates living in Bali. Sanur is popular with ex pats from Europe and there is numerous long term rental villas, also there are apartments available in the area. There are also a lot of beach front hotels in Sanur.
There is a whole lot to do and see in Bali and villa rental is usually easy to discover. Everything from biking in the hills and mountains to underwater diving just about the coast where there is a wealth of sea life to see and coral to explore. Whilst in Bali a visit to the monkey forest is an unforgettable moment. The monkeys are free to roam where the tourist like and feeding them is all part of the experience. Other excursions include the bat temple, the fire dances and a great magic show.
Spas and yoga are a big part of Bali. People flock from all over the world for the latest spa treatments including a wide range of massages and treatments for numerous ailments or just to relax and feel good.
There are lots of places with beautiful view for yoga and meditation. There are also yoga community in Ubud area.

So you've been fantasizing about renting a villa in Italy... or Greece... or Spain... But how do you turn that dream into a reality? It's easier than you think. Here's my step-by-step guide to making sure that ultimate dream vacation doesn't disappear in a puff of smoke!
1. Plan Ahead. Way Ahead. The first thing to understand is that renting a villa is not a spur of the moment decision. Most European villas are now booking up nine months or a year in advance, which means that if you call in a month before your departure date, you'll be stuck with whatever you can get-- if anything. So get out your calendar ASAP and mark off the month when you think you'd like to travel (your trip doesn't have to be this long, but starting with flexible dates is the best). The good news about booking this far in advance is that you have a lot of time to plan-- so you can arrange all of those special little details in advance. You'll also have plenty of opportunity to dream about the adventures ahead!
2. The More the Merrier - And Cheaper! Having more people in your party will enable you to rent a larger, more private estate, and will also reduce individual costs. A good, convenient group size would be anywhere from six to twelve people. This step is often the most difficult, as you struggle with deciding who to ask... and then try to get them to "commit!" My recommendation: Make a list of friends and family and order them according to shared interests such as outdoor activities, architecture and museums, cooking, etc. Ask the first six or eight people on your list if they would like to join you for a "two-week Italian vacation in June of 2007." Make it clear that each person has only so much kiralık villa time to decide-- for sure. If, at the end of that time period, they are still wavering, thank them politely and move on down your list.
3. Plan Your Budget. Once you have your travel companions together, you'll need to find out about how much each person expects to spend. Most of your companions probably won't know how much to expect to pay, you may want to research some basic costs like airfare to Europe (book your flights after booking a villa), the exchange rate from dollars to Euros, and the cost of renting a mid-range villa. Try to get an idea about how much people are willing to pay for their accommodations. If anyone's budget is far below (or above) the group average, you may want to talk to them about either changing their expectations or opting out. It is also a good idea to collect some sort of "deposit" at this point to ensure that there are no last-minute dropouts after you've booked!
4. Let Your Interests Determine the Location-- not the other way around. Trust me, you'll have more fun. Before you pick your destination, come up with a list of possible activities and ask your companions to pick their three favorites. Here is a short sample list:
- Visit museums
- Shop at outdoor markets
- Explore medieval towns
- Go swimming
- See famous sights
- Have a cooking lesson
- Hike in the countryside
When all the votes are in, come up with a "top five" list.
5. Call Your Travel Advisor! At this point, you're going to want to start consulting with someone who has experience. Get together your time frame, head count, budget, and activity preferences, and then contact a reputable villa rental agency or a travel advisor. Based on your information, your advisor should give you some good ideas about where you should go and the places that will best accommodate the size and needs of your group. Working together, you should be able to pick out a location and a villa to suite your group... and fulfill your own personal fantasies! After all, as your group's organizer, you'll have the last say in where you stay. So enjoy the rewards!
